The STILL Method

Unlocking potential through proven neuroscience and positive psychology.

“The STILL Method was created from a drive to help people live a life that was no longer impacted by anxiety.  I grew up with a disease that meant I could break my bones incredibly easily and I looked very different to my peers. I’ve spent my adult life researching ways to help others reach their true potential and see the opportunities and excitement that hides behind their fears. - Stuart Thompson, Creator of The STILL Method

What is The STILL Method?

Overcome anxiety, unlock potential, grow in confidence, manage fears, foster resilience, build happiness, improve self-esteem.

The STILL Method is fun, relaxed and interactive workshops and programmes delivering emotional coaching 1-2-1 or in small groups, for all ages from tots to adults.

A clear step by step approach that increases awareness of our emotions and equips individuals with easy to use tools and techniques to help them help themselves deal with whatever comes up in life, throughout their life.

All STILL Method programmes have been created by Stuart Thompson, an award winning therapist with over 20 years of therapy experience, who saw the need for a way to address anxiety and big emotions at their root cause.

They use a ‘best of’ approach from many different methodologies including neuroscience, positive psychology, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), mindfulness and personal development.

Being able to understand and then develop emotional regulation (EQ) is as important as IQ.

EQ = know you

IQ = know how

If we can emotionally self-regulate, we can manage our emotions no matter what is going on around us - using our EQ to know our emotional signs then our IQ to acknowledge them and know how to get back to ‘ok’. If we can’t, we find ourself dysregulated, stuck in our emotions with seemingly no way out…

For example, you pass someone in the street, at school or at work who would normally say hello to you, give you a big smile, but today has their head down. If we have developed our EQ we will wonder what was wrong with them, maybe reach out to see if they are ok; if we have little or no EQ we will wonder what we’ve done wrong, why they don’t like us anymore.

It’s so often not our actual emotions that are the problem, it’s how we respond to them

“On the other side of anxiety is happiness, opportunity and great things.  Anxiety’s cruel trick is to make us believe they are far away, when in fact they are at touching distance” - Stuart Thompson, Creator of The STILL Method

The STILL Method Programmes

STILL stands for Stop, Talk, Imagine, Listen, Learn

Stop = stop the anxiety or scary feeling

Talk = how to talk about, understand and explain what it is you are feeling

Imagine = imagine life without the anxiety, how to believe feelings can change and confidence will increase

Listen = listen to what your body is telling you, your very own ‘warning light’ system

Learn = learn how you can change the way you think and feel and become empowered

All programmes run 1-2-1 or in small groups, in person or online

Sessions are usually 1 hour over 3-6 weeks and can also be run as half-day / full day workshops and after school clubs
